How do I transfer a domain?
Solution

BusinesOnLine is no longer managing or renewing client domain names. This responsibility will be left up to the client to manage and renew themselves. Those who have previously bought a domain name through us must transfer the domain name to their ownership before it expires.

  1. Create an account at a domain registrar. Usually, these accounts are free. Some recommended registrars are:
    www.godaddy.com
    www.networksolutions.com
    www.brinkster.com

  2. Notify BusinessOnLine by sending an e-mail to support@businessol.com or filling out an online trouble ticket with the subject, "Domain Name Transfer Request." This allows us to unlock the domain so that it is ready for transferring.

  3. In your registrar's account, you can request a domain name transfer. This is usually a link or button under domain name services. All you need to do is type in the domain that is to be transferred.

  4. The registrar will then contact us and we will authorize the transfer. This is why it is very important that you contact us before initiating a transfer.

  5. Your domain should be transferred within 3-5 days of the initial transfer request. After you have transferred the domain over to your ownership, you must update your technical, administrative, and contact data within your registrar's account management panel.

  6. After you have successfully transferred your domain, you can then renew it within your registrar's account management panel.
